A Scientific Council (SC) comprising international experts in each of the I*PROMS research clusters is set up to advise the Governing Council (GC) and the Executive Board (EB) on defining and planning the Network's research priorities to meet its research aims. Likewise, an Industrial Council (IC) made up of senior industrialists representing technology suppliers and end users is formed to provide I*PROMS with the industrial steer ensuring that its work will always be industrially relevant.

Appropriate working groups will be convened, led by SC and IC members, to develop strategies relating to: joint structuring of the Network, integrating and research activities, knowledge management, collaboration between academia and industry, dissemination and exploitation activities and financial and quality control activities. Members of the GC will be invited to attend meetings of SC and IC.
