Beyound I*PROMS NoE

During its 3rd annual meeting in Senlis, France, the I*PROMS Governing Council decided to form a task force for establishing a legal entity (company, association, etc..) to sustain the Network's activities beyond the funded period. The group is currently conducting a market survey to help assess the entity's viability and define the services and products it can offer. The group is also responsible for developing a comprehensive business plan for the entity to be submitted to the European Commission after its approval by the Network members. During the final year of I*PROMS, the entity will run as a pilot project before it is officially launched.

The mission of the entity would be to promote manufacturing as a vital sector for sustaining economic growth and improve the competitiveness of its stakeholders by: extending and maintaining the research infrastructure established during the life of I*PROMS Network of Excellence; facilitating transfer of knowledge and expertise; and campaigning for new attitudes towards continued acquisition, deployment, protection and funding of new knowledge.
