The annual I*PROMS Network meeting was held in Berlin, Germany on 21-23 September 2005.The I*PROMS Cluster Executive Committees (EC), Executive Board (EB) and Governing Council (GC) meetings were kindly hosted at Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology.

The meetings held discussions on the Network progress and approved plans for the following 18 months.

The first day of meetings was taken up with discussion by the four I*PROMS ECs of the progress of all of the cluster activities during the first year including the State of Art, Taxonomy and Road mapping deliverables. As well as discussing the first years activities the clusters discussed the Joint Programme of Research for the next 18 months whose major aim is to foster closer links and collaboration with industry both large and small. During the second day the meeting of the EB took place which is made up of the cluster leaders from the four I*PROMS clusters. Once again the performance of I*PROMS during the first year was discussed and action plans for the forthcoming 18 months were discussed.

The date of the next EB meeting was set as Friday 10th March 2006 at IFW – University of Hanover. However, the highlight of the day had to be the sightseeing cruise organised by IPK in the evening.

The GC meeting was attended by over 30 people representing nearly all of the members of the network. (See group picture below). The GC meeting summarised EC and EB meetings as well as holding discussions of the Network Progress.

In addition to approving the various plans and actions agreed over the past two days a presentation was given on the promotion of the I*PROMS NoE. The presentation covered the very successful IPROMS 2005 conference on Intelligent Production Machines and Systems and materials being produced to help promote I*PROMS such as pens and information leaflets that can be given out when visiting companies. Partners were also informed of the availability of the pop up stand and information leaflet that partners can borrow when organising I*PROMS events such as conference session, workshops and seminars. All in all the meeting was very successful.

The I*PROMS CCT on behalf of all of the I*PROMS partners would like to thank Fraunhofer IPK for all of the efforts and excellent hospitality.
